My name is Nancy and I am the creator and owner of Travels On Point.

I’ve been traveling for 30 years! The past four have been full-time as a solo, semi-retired digital nomad in Europe, the US, and Canada

This blog is about slow travel: destinations, travel advice and cultural information for people wanting exceptional travel experiences that are authentic, rich and unique. We focus on Paris and off-the-beaten-path destinations in Europe like Trieste and Avignon.

Four years ago I made a drastic life change; I sold my home in Idaho on 20 acres and re-homed my beloved Great Pyrenees to start a nomadic journey that is still happening!

I have been doing authentic and slow travel since I was at university in France, the kind of travel is natural for me. I visited Paris often then; walking everywhere exploring the city.

I sometimes take tours but often discover on my own.

I meet locals, learn some of the local language and stay in one area for several weeks or months. I speak French fluently and know a little Italian and Spanish and am learning Russian.

Travels On Point is dedicated to helping travelers have exceptional travel experiences – authentic, local and outside the box.

• I lived in Rennes for a year of University, spent one month living in Avignon, and have been to Paris many times.
